Case study

Bob's Mechanical Repairs

A garage website rebuilt around the way drivers actually search: by fault, by service and by town.

In short
The garage had genuine diagnostic expertise and no way for anyone to find it online. We rebuilt the site around one page per service, added fault and symptom content, and made the whole thing fast and easy to call from a phone.

The practical detail

Why we think like a mechanic, not a marketer

Our founder, Robert, trained in motor mechanics before getting into SEO. That hands-on garage experience is crucial. We know that nobody searches for 'longitudinal engine drivetrain diagnostics'. They search for 'clunking noise when I turn left'. This case study is built on that simple truth.

We side-stepped the marketing jargon and technical terms the garage might use internally. Instead, we built pages that answered the exact questions their customers were typing into their phones. This approach comes from a genuine understanding of the work, not just from keyword research tools.

What is 'structured data' anyway?

We mentioned adding structured data to the site. In simple terms, this is a bit of code that acts like a label for Google. It explicitly tells search engines, 'This is a garage', 'These are its opening hours', and 'This is the phone number'. Why bother?

Because it helps Google display that information directly in the search results, often in a prominent local business panel. For a driver needing a garage right now, seeing you're open and having a clickable phone number, without even visiting the site, can be the difference between you getting the job or your competitor.

Ongoing work: what does monthly SEO involve?

A website build is just the starting point. For Bob's, the real work is in the ongoing SEO, which we offer from £199 per month. This is not about chasing rankings for vanity terms. It is about looking at Google Search Console data each month to see the real-world queries people use to find the site.

We might see people searching for a specific DPF fault on a Ford Transit. If the site does not cover it well, we will write a new, detailed diagnostic page for it. This continuous process of refinement is what turns a static website into a customer-generating tool.

How the website helps build trust

Independent garages thrive on trust, and the website is often the first handshake. Vague pages with stock photos do not build confidence. By writing detailed, plain-language descriptions of diagnostic work—what a warning light means, what the check involves—we demonstrate expertise. We answer the customer's question before they have even picked up the phone.

This transparency is a core part of what we call ethical reputation management. It positions the garage as a helpful expert, not just a business trying to get a sale. People buy from people they trust, and a helpful website is a great place to start building that.

Connecting the website to the real world

A good website should not exist in a vacuum. The clear, simple messaging we developed for Bob's service pages can be used everywhere. It provides the perfect copy for a leaflet drop in the local area or a small advert in a parish magazine, both of which we can design.

The phone number and core services are always front and centre. This consistency matters. When someone sees a leaflet and then visits the website, they see the same straightforward approach. It reinforces the brand and makes the business feel solid and reliable.
