Online Reputation Management That Helps You Take Back Control
Somebody searches your business or your name before they call, hire, invest or sign. If page one is an eight-year-old article, a spiteful review or a forum thread, that decision gets made without you in the room. This is the work of changing what they find — properly, lawfully and without pretending the internet can be deleted.
In short
Online reputation management means auditing what currently ranks for you, pursuing lawful correction or removal where a route genuinely exists, then building and ranking accurate assets you own so the results people see are fair and current. UK-wide, handled discreetly, with no guaranteed-ranking or guaranteed-removal promises.
What we can help with
The problems people come to us with
Almost every reputation enquiry is one of a small number of situations. Sometimes it is one page, badly placed. Sometimes it is years of accumulated results nobody ever managed. Occasionally the problem is the opposite — nothing accurate ranks at all, so whoever publishes anything about you owns your search results by default.
Negative search results appearing for your business or personal name
Outdated or inaccurate information in Google search results
Unfair or misleading reviews shaping first impressions
Old press dominating branded searches years after the event
Forum threads, Reddit posts and social results ranking on your name
Executive, director and founder reputation on page one
Business and brand reputation management across the whole SERP
AI-search reputation in ChatGPT, AI Overviews and answer engines
Brand-name SERPs cluttered with pages you have no control over
Nothing accurate ranking at all — an empty, easily hijacked search result
What we will not do is manufacture the fix. No fake reviews, no invented testimonials, no fake news sites, no astroturfing, no impersonating anyone, no bogus copyright takedowns and no political persuasion campaigns. Those tactics get found out, and when they do the coverage is worse than whatever you started with.
How reputation SEO works
The seven stages, in order
Reputation management SEO is not a mysterious dark art. It is ordinary search work pointed at branded queries instead of commercial ones, plus the legal and platform routes most agencies never bother to check. Here is the actual sequence.
Audit what actually ranks
We map the first three pages of results for your brand name, your personal name, your name plus common modifiers — reviews, complaints, scam, court, fired — and the branded searches your customers really use. Each result gets classified: yours, controllable, negotiable, or fixed. Nothing sensible can be planned before that picture exists.
Find removal and correction opportunities
Some things do not need outranking, they need fixing. Factual errors go to the publisher as a correction request. Personal data, doxxed addresses and non-consensual content go through the platform's own removal process and Google's removal tools. Old listings, dead directory profiles and defunct company records can often simply be deleted at source.
Build authoritative owned assets
You need pages that outrank the noise and that you control: a strong website, a proper about or founder page, an author profile, a press or newsroom section, claimed and completed profiles on the platforms that rank for names — Companies House data tidied, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, trade bodies, industry directories.
Publish accurate, useful content
Not filler. Real answers to the questions people ask about you, your services, your history and your position on whatever the issue was. Search engines rank pages that satisfy the search, and a person who searched your name and found a clear, honest explanation is often the whole objective.
Earn authority and legitimate coverage
Digital PR done honestly: genuine commentary, real interviews, industry publications, awards you actually won, speaking and podcast appearances. Those pages carry authority you cannot manufacture, and they are what typically overtakes an old article on a mid-tier domain.
Tighten internal linking, entity and schema
Internal links point authority at the pages that should own your name. Structured data — Organisation, Person, Article, Breadcrumb — states the facts machine-readably. Names, roles, dates and locations are made consistent everywhere, because contradictions are exactly what lets a bad page hold position.
Monitor Google, Bing and AI results
Ongoing online reputation monitoring: branded search positions, new results appearing, review flow, and spot checks on what ChatGPT and AI Overviews say about you. Reputation is not a one-off project — it drifts, and catching a new result in week one is far cheaper than in year two.
Be clear on one point, because it is the point most providers blur: suppression is earned. Nobody hacks a result off Google and nobody deletes the web. Pages move down because stronger, more relevant, more trustworthy pages move up past them. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why this work takes months rather than days.
Suppression
Negative Search Result Suppression, Explained Honestly
Negative search result suppression means ranking accurate, genuinely useful assets strongly enough that outdated, irrelevant or low-quality results slide down the page — onto page two, then out of sight for practical purposes. Most people never scroll past the first handful of results, so moving a page from position three to position twelve changes almost everything about how you are perceived, even though the page still exists.
What makes a result movable? Age, thinness, weak linking and low domain authority. A five-year-old directory listing, a dead complaint-board thread, a low-traffic blog post or a defunct company profile are all realistic targets — they are being held up by nothing but the absence of competition on your own name. What is far harder: national newspapers, the BBC, court and regulatory records, and anything recent and heavily linked. We will tell you which bucket each of your results sits in before you spend anything.
If you are searching for how to push negative articles down Google or how to remove negative Google results, the honest answer combines both routes. Chase removal or correction wherever a legitimate mechanism exists, and treat suppression as the long-term work for everything else. Anyone selling you one without the other is simplifying to close the sale.
A typical suppression build looks like: a fast, well-structured website that properly owns your brand name, a substantial about and founder page, claimed profiles on the platforms that rank for names, a small cluster of genuinely useful content answering what people ask about you, and legitimate coverage earned over time. Each element is unremarkable on its own. Together they are what actually reorders a branded SERP.
AI search
AI Search Reputation Management
Search results are no longer the only thing forming an opinion of you. People now ask ChatGPT whether a company is any good, read Google's AI Overviews instead of clicking, and let Perplexity or Copilot summarise a name in three sentences. Those summaries are built from sources those systems can read, parse and trust — and if the accurate information about you is vague, contradictory or absent, they will fill the gap with whatever is loudest.
AI reputation management is therefore not persuasion, it is supply. Accurate entity information: legal name, trading name, what you do, where, who runs it, when it started, what it is genuinely known for. Authoritative sources saying the same thing. Structured data so the facts are labelled rather than inferred from layout. Consistency across your site, your profiles and any coverage, because a contradiction is exactly what makes a model hedge — or reach for the outlier.
The technical groundwork overlaps heavily with our AI search optimisation work, and the crawlability side with technical SEO. The difference here is intent: we are checking what these systems currently say about you, finding the source of anything wrong, and correcting the record at source. Nobody can edit a model's answer directly, and any provider claiming they can reach inside ChatGPT and change your entry is selling fiction.
Who it is for
Who we take on for reputation work
Businesses
Business reputation management for companies losing enquiries at the last step — the quote goes out, the customer searches the name, and something on page one costs you the job. Common with trades, garages, hire firms, agencies and local service businesses where a single sour review or an old dispute outranks everything else.
Founders and directors
Executive reputation management for named individuals: a director whose personal name search shows an old insolvency, a founder raising money, someone whose name is checked by clients, lenders and recruiters. Personal name SERPs behave differently from brand SERPs and need their own plan.
Professionals
Consultants, tradespeople, coaches, clinicians and anyone whose living depends on being trusted by strangers. Usually the fix is that nothing credible ranks at all, so a review or a forum comment becomes the entire first impression by default.
Public figures and organisations
Authors, speakers, charities, clubs, trade bodies and membership organisations needing accurate, current, well-structured information about themselves to be the most visible thing available. We handle reputation, accuracy and visibility — we do not run electoral or political persuasion campaigns.
There are enquiries we turn down. If the aim is to bury an accurate regulatory finding, hide a live safety issue, attack a competitor or drown out a legitimate journalist doing their job, we are not the right people and we will say so on the first call.
What working with us looks like
Scope, price and discretion
First there is a confidential review. You tell us the business or name, and what you have already seen; we run the searches ourselves and come back with a plain-English picture of what ranks, what is realistically movable, where a lawful removal or correction route exists, and what the AI answer engines currently say. That review is where most people find out the problem is smaller — or occasionally larger — than they assumed.
Then you get a fixed scope and a fixed price before any work starts. Reputation repair is quoted per job rather than off a price list, because a single outdated page and a founder with four years of press are not remotely comparable pieces of work. Ongoing online reputation monitoring can run monthly afterwards if the situation warrants it, and plenty of clients do not need it.
Everything is treated as confidential. We do not name reputation clients, we do not turn the work into case studies, and nothing about your enquiry is published. The service is delivered UK-wide by email and call from Perthshire, so where you are based makes no difference to how it runs.
Reputation management services UK
The Six Strands Of The Work
Most enquiries need two or three of the following, not all six. The confidential review tells you which, and the quote covers only that. This is what an online reputation management agency in the UK should actually be doing on your behalf, described plainly rather than as a package name.
Brand and business reputation management
Making sure the pages a customer, supplier or lender finds on your company name are yours, current and accurate: the website, Google Business Profile, Companies House data, LinkedIn and the directories that rank for your trading name.
Personal and executive reputation management
Name searches behave differently from brand searches. For directors, founders and professionals we build the credible pages that should own a personal name, then deal with whatever is sitting above them.
Negative search result suppression
Outranking what cannot be removed. We grade each result by how movable it actually is, then build and rank stronger legitimate assets until the weak ones slide down. Earned, not deleted, and never guaranteed.
Online reputation repair and correction
The routes most providers skip: factual correction requests to publishers, platform removal processes, Google removal tools, UK right-to-be-forgotten submissions, and tidying dead listings and old profiles at source.
Online reputation monitoring
Branded search positions, new results as they appear, review flow across the platforms that matter to you, and alerts when something changes. Catching a result in week one is far cheaper than in year two.
AI search reputation management
Checking what ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini currently say about you, finding the source of anything wrong, and giving those systems accurate, consistent, well-structured facts to work from.

Common questions
What is online reputation management?
Online reputation management is the work of improving what people find when they search your business, brand or name. In practice it is part audit, part lawful correction or removal requests, and mostly SEO: building and ranking accurate, genuinely useful pages you own so the results people see reflect reality rather than one bad page from 2016.
Can negative Google results be removed?
Sometimes. Google will remove content in specific circumstances — personal data such as bank details or a home address, non-consensual images, defamatory material a court has ruled on, and certain right-to-be-forgotten requests in the UK and EU. Beyond that, the page has to come down at source, which means asking the site owner or the platform. Anything Google keeps indexed is a suppression job, not a removal job.
Can you push negative search results down?
You can influence it, and often substantially, but not by deleting anything. Results move because something better outranks them: a strong site, well-structured profiles, useful content and genuine coverage. Where a negative page is old, thin or barely linked, stronger accurate assets frequently overtake it. Where it sits on a major news domain, expect it to hold position for far longer.
How long does reputation SEO take?
Removal and correction requests can land in days or weeks when they succeed. Suppression is slower — typically three to six months for visible movement on branded searches, longer where the problem page is on a high-authority domain. Anyone quoting you a two-week fix for page-one news coverage is guessing or lying.
Is reputation management legal?
Done properly, yes. Publishing accurate content, claiming your own profiles, requesting corrections, submitting lawful removal requests and earning legitimate coverage are all normal, legal activities. What is not legal or ethical — and what we will not do — is fake reviews, fake news sites, impersonation, sock-puppet accounts, bogus copyright claims or paying anyone to attack a third party.
Can you help with negative news articles?
We can help you deal with them. If an article contains factual errors, there are proper routes: a correction request to the publication, a complaint to IPSO or the relevant regulator, or legal advice from a solicitor where the content may be defamatory. If the article is accurate journalism, it stays, and we will tell you that. What we can do is make sure it is not the only thing representing you on page one.
Can you manage AI search reputation?
Yes, within the limits of how these systems work. ChatGPT, Google's AI results, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini build answers from sources they can read and trust. Making your entity information accurate, consistent and well-structured across your site and the places they cite gives them better material to work from. Nobody can edit an AI model's output directly.
How much does online reputation management cost?
It is quoted per job, because the work varies enormously — a single outdated page needing a correction request is not the same as a founder with several years of press to work through. Contact us for a confidential review and you will get a fixed scope and price before anything starts.
Do you work across the UK?
Yes. This is a UK-wide service handled remotely by email and call, and it is treated as confidential. We do not publish client names for reputation work, we do not use it as a case study, and nothing about your enquiry appears on this site.
Can you guarantee removal or rankings?
No, and neither can anyone else. We do not control Google, Bing, AI answer engines, news publishers or review platforms. What you get is an honest assessment of what is realistically movable, what is not, and the specific work that gives you the best chance — with no guaranteed-outcome contracts.
