Leaflet, Card And Banner Design For Small Businesses
A leaflet gets about two seconds on a doormat. A business card gets glanced at while somebody is holding a coffee. Both work if there is one clear offer and an obvious way to get in touch — and both fail when they are crammed with everything the business has ever done.
In short
BMR Digital designs leaflets, flyers, business cards, banners, posters, vehicle graphics artwork, price lists and social media graphics for UK small businesses. You get print-ready PDFs set up for any printer plus correctly sized web and social versions, at a fixed quote with two rounds of changes included. We design the artwork; you choose your own printer and keep the files.
What we design
One studio for the printed and on-screen side of a small business, so everything matches: the same logo, the same colours, the same fonts, whether it is a leaflet through a door, a card in a wallet, a banner at a show or a post on Facebook.
Leaflets and flyers
Door-drop and hand-out artwork built round one clear offer, your service area and an obvious way to get in touch. Set up correctly for any UK printer, with bleed and safe margins so nothing important gets trimmed off.
Business cards
The most-handled thing you own. Designed so the phone number and website are readable at arm's length, with a back that earns its space — a service list, a QR code to your booking page, or a service-due reminder.
Banners and posters
Artwork for pull-up stands, fence and outdoor banners, and event boards. Designed to be read at distance and speed, which means fewer words and much bigger type than most people expect.
Vehicle and window graphics
Vector artwork your signwriter or wrapper can work from directly, laid out for the panels of the actual vehicle rather than handed over as a rectangle for them to guess with.
Price lists and menus
Service sheets, price boards and menus that are easy to scan, easy for you to update later, and supplied in both printable and screen-friendly versions.
Social graphics
Posts, story graphics and profile and cover images sized per platform, so nothing important is cropped off and your feed looks like one business rather than five.
Design only — you own the files and pick the printer
We do not print, and that is deliberate. Design studios that bundle printing usually mark it up, and you end up locked into one supplier. Instead you get the print-ready artwork and a note of the settings your printer will ask for — size, bleed, colour mode, resolution — so you can price the job around and reprint any time without paying for design again.

What actually makes a leaflet work
One offer. Not a list of eleven services in six-point type — one reason to call, said in words a customer would use. "MOT and service from one place, while you wait" beats "comprehensive automotive solutions" every time.
Then the practical things people look for and often cannot find: the area you cover, your opening hours, and one obvious way to get in touch. If somebody has to hunt for how to book you, the leaflet has failed regardless of how it looks.
Then a reason to keep it. A service-due reminder, a loyalty stamp panel, a QR code to your booking page, a price list on the back. A leaflet that ends up on a fridge or in a van door pocket is worth ten that go straight in the bin.
And finally, honesty in the artwork. No invented five-star ratings, no stock photos of somebody else's premises pretending to be yours. We will use your own photos and tidy them up — proper pictures of your actual work outperform stock imagery by a wide margin.
The print settings people get caught by
Bleed is a few extra millimetres of background beyond the edge, because guillotines are not perfect. Without it you get thin white slivers along the trim. Safe margin is the opposite: keep text away from the edge so nothing gets sliced off.
Resolution needs to be 300dpi at final size. A photo pulled off Facebook is usually about 72dpi and will look soft in print no matter what the printer does. Colour mode needs to be CMYK for print and RGB for screen, which is why the same design is supplied twice.
All of this is set up for you. It is only listed here because being told "your file was rejected" by an online printer with no explanation is a genuinely miserable afternoon.
How the job runs
You tell us what you need and where it is going — printer, door drop, show stand, website or all of them. Send over your logo, any photos you want used, and the wording if you have it. If you do not, describe the offer and we will write it.
You get a first draft to react to, then two rounds of changes: layout and message first, detail and proofreading second. Then the final files land — print-ready PDF plus the web and social sizes — and the job is closed at the price agreed at the start.
Most single-item jobs turn round in a few days. If you are up against a show date or a print deadline, say so at the start and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Print and online, pulling in the same direction
Print works best when it has somewhere to send people. A leaflet pointing at a slow, out-of-date website wastes half its value, and a QR code to a page that does not load on a phone wastes all of it.
So print jobs are often done alongside logo design, digital and photo design, short social videos, website design and local SEO — so the leaflet, the search result and the website all say the same thing and look like the same business.
You can see the sort of work this sits alongside on our our work page, and prices for the wider services on the pricing page.
FAQs
Do you print the leaflets too?
No, and that saves you money. We design print-ready artwork and send you the files, so you can use whichever printer is cheapest or closest. We also tell you exactly which settings the printer will ask for, so ordering is not a guessing game.
What sizes do you design?
Leaflets and flyers in A4, A5, A6 and DL, folded leaflets, business cards, appointment and loyalty cards, pull-up and outdoor banners, van and window graphics artwork, posters, price lists and menus, plus correctly sized graphics for Facebook, Instagram and Google.
What files do I get?
A print-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks set up properly for your printer, plus JPG or PNG versions sized for your website, WhatsApp and social media. You keep the files and can reprint whenever you like.
How much does leaflet design cost?
It is a fixed quote, quoted before any work starts, with the number of pages or sides agreed up front. There is no monthly design retainer and no hourly meter.
How many changes are included?
First draft, then two rounds of changes. Round one is usually layout and message, round two is detail and proofreading. Anything beyond that is quoted openly rather than added to an invoice.
Can you write the wording as well?
Yes. Tell us the offer, the area you cover and what you want people to do, and we will write the copy. It comes back short and clear, because leaflet space is small and nobody reads a wall of text on a doormat.
Do you need my logo first?
It helps. If you do not have one, or only have a low-resolution image, we can design or redraw it first — see our logo design page. Print work made from a blurred logo will always look blurred.
Will the printed colours match my screen?
Close, but never identical: screens are backlit RGB and print is CMYK ink on paper. We set artwork up in CMYK so what arrives matches expectations, and flag any colour that will shift noticeably before you order a thousand copies.
What makes a good leaflet design?
One clear message, a headline someone can read from arm's length, a single obvious next step and your contact details where the eye lands last. Most leaflets fail because they try to say everything; the good ones say one thing well.
Do you design flyers as well as leaflets?
Yes — leaflets and flyers are the same job at different sizes. We design single-sided flyers, folded leaflets and door-drop inserts, set up print-ready for whichever printer you use.

Send the size, the offer and where it's going. We'll come back with a fixed quote and a turnaround.
